How to Use and Stay Safe

A little care goes a long way. Please read this before you use any AURAH product.

Using your attar

  • Dab a little on pulse points: wrists, inner elbows, or behind the ears.
  • You can also touch it to clothing. Test a hidden spot first, as oil-based attars can mark delicate fabrics such as silk.
  • Start with one dab. Attars are concentrated, and a little goes a long way.
  • Patch test on a small area of skin and wait 24 hours before regular use.
  • Keep away from your eyes and broken skin.

Using your essential oil

  • Diffuser: add 3 to 5 drops to about 100 ml of water, following your diffuser’s instructions.
  • Burner: add a few drops to water in the bowl. Never heat the oil on its own and never leave a flame unattended.
  • On skin: never apply neat. Dilute in a carrier oil, about 8 to 10 drops per 30 ml, and patch test first. This may vary for different topical purposes.

Please remember

  • For external and aromatic use only. Do not swallow.
  • Citrus oils such as Bergamot, Lemon and Orange can make skin more sensitive to sunlight. Avoid the sun on skin where they have been applied.
  • Keep out of reach of children and pets. Some oils are not suitable around young children or animals.
  • If you are pregnant or nursing, have a medical condition, or take medication, speak to your doctor before use.
  • Essential oils and attars are flammable. Keep away from flames and heat.
  • If irritation occurs, stop use and wash with plenty of water. If it persists, see a doctor.

Storage

Keep bottles tightly closed, upright, away from direct sunlight and heat, in a cool place.
